Spring Term

This term we will be exploring the scientific wonder behind the Human Body. Our studies will lead us to understand how our body works and how to keep our bodies fit and healthy!

We will enjoy learning about...

  • The functions of the human heart
  • How our brain works and keeps our body moving
  • How to keep our heart and mind healthy
  • How to eat healthily, including making smoothies!
  • What humans do to damage their bodies
  • How we can teach others about our findings through writing

Later on in the term, we will delve into the delights of William Shakespeare during our English sessions. Get ready to encounter mystery, romance, tragedy and murder as we explore one of the most influential writers in British History!

We will explore the thriller 'Macbeth,' practising our acting skills through drama and exploring Shakespeare's influences that inspired his ideas. We will even practise writing playscripts and adapting Shakespeare to suit a 2017 setting!

Last but not least, this term we will visit Kingswood with the UK Military School for our Year 6 residential. Prepare yourselves for fun, laughter and making memories that will last a lifetime!

Homework

Over the course of this term, we encourage that children take the SATS revision guides home with them to complete their own revision tasks at home. We encourage that the children complete 2 pages a night of the reivison guide of their choice, unless they have been told otherwise by their teacher.

If there are any concerns or if your child is particularly struggling on any areas that have been set, please do not hesitate to ask for advice or make myself or Miss Whimperley aware so that we can support your child in school time.

P.E

P.E will be on Friday afternoons this term. We ask that the children keep their school P.E kit in school at all times for the possible occassion of extra P.E lessons during the week.
